About Keene State College

Keene State College is a liberal arts college in Keene, which is a city in the US state of New Hampshire, serving as the county seat of Cheshire County, with more than 23 000 people, living within its limits, as estimated during the 2009 census.

The college was established in 1909 and first started as a teacher's college called Keene Normal School. It currently offers its students nearly 40 majors in the liberal arts and sciences, professional programs, and selected graduate degrees, including Associate in Arts and Science, Bachelor of Arts, Fine Arts, Music and Science, and Master of Education.

Athletics

Keene State's athletic teams are known as the Owls and they compete in NCAA Division III, in the Little East Conference, for various men's and women's sports. Their distinctive colors are red and black.
